Research Notes on Depression Warning Signs


The warning signs of depression can include sadness, sleep disturbances, low energy, appetite changes, and poor motivation.1 Depression can affect family, work or school, sleeping and eating habits, and general health. In more severe cases the person may have delusions and hallucinations. Suicidal ideation may also be present.2
