Depression hotlines offer access to trained professionals who are able to discuss a range of topics.1 Most are open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. In addition to offering a sympathetic ear, they can refer callers to other organizations for various resources. If you or a loved one is having thoughts of suicide, a hotline specialist can provide understanding without judgment.1 Some hotlines specialize in depression, suicide, or all types of crisis.2
