Research Notes on Depakote Uses
Depakote (divalproex) uses include the treatment of epilepsy and manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder. It may also be used to treat migraines. The treatment of dementia, hiccups, and agitation are some of the off label uses for Depakote.1

- Depakote may interact with carbamazepine, primidone, lamotrigine, and warfarin. These medications may affect the levels of Depakote in your blood.2
- Depakote side effects may include diarrhea, constipation, weight gain, weight loss, and headache.3
