Dental bridge is a lay term for a fixed partial denture. It is a prosthetic device made to “bridge” a gap made by one or more missing teeth. Bridges are cemented into place and cannot be removed by the patient. They last for at least five to seven years, and up to ten years with proper oral hygiene.
