Research Notes on Deep Brain Stimulation
Parkinson's disease, clinical depression, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Tourette's syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder can all benefit by a procedure called deep brain stimulation (DBS). It is a surgical procedure used to treat a wide variety of disabling neurological disorders—most commonly, the debilitating symptoms of these conditions, such as tremors, rigidity, stiffness, slowed movement, and walking problems.
