Dave Goerlitz is a professional model, actor and public speaker. He became renowned for his lead role as the "Winston Man" in R.J. Reynolds' "Search and Rescue" ad campaign. This advertising series was very profitable for the company, which helped move Winston Cigarettes from Number 4 to Number 2 in worldwide sales. Dave was used more than any other tobacco model, including the "Marlboro Men." In November 1988, he took a public stand against the advertising of tobacco targeted to children, and since then has been honored by the World Health Organization, the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association, and the American Heart Association.
