DNA Fingerprinting May Identify Viable Embryos
This WisdomCard managed by: Nicole Kinsey
A team of fertility experts have discovered a way to test IVF embryos using DNA fingerprinting. Doctors cannot tell patients for sure if the embryos implanted are going to yeild multiples, or even if the embryo is viable. This DNA testing will allow doctors to inform their patients if they will be having multiple births, and the patients may have the opportunity to turn away those embryos.
