Research Notes on Cyanide
Cyanide is a very toxic substance. It disrupts the ability of the body's cells to use oxygen. Basically, it causes the cells to suffocate. It is commonly used in commercial laboratories. Cyanide is present in the gas given off by fungicides and insecticides, fingernail glue removers, and in the pits of apricots. Cyanide can be ingested by mouth, inhaled, or absorbed by the skin.
