Research Notes on Crohn's Disease in Children and Teens Treatment
Children and teens with Crohn's disease are most often treated by a team of health care providers which can include a nutritionist and gastroenterologist. Treatment goals include managing the symptoms of Crohn's disease and controlling inflammation. Medications such as anti-inflammatories, corticosteroids, and immune-suppressing medications may be prescribed as treatment.1 If medications fail to work effectively, surgery may be considered.2
