Research Notes on Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery is a medical specialty used to change the appearance of the body. Elective procedures have become more popular over the past several years, with over 11 million Americans having had a procedure performed in 2006. It is important to research everything that is involved prior to having any form of cosmetic surgery.
Fast Facts:
- Selecting a surgeon who you like and trust is essential.
- Be prepared to ask your surgeon questions about the procedure and what to expect during and after the surgery.
- Smokers may not heal as well following a cosmetic surgical procedure. Many cosmetic surgeons refuse to operate on those who smoke.
