Contact Lens Fitting Problems

A common problem encountered by people who use contact lenses is corneal discomfort due to ill-fitting lenses. The cornea shields the inside of the eye from germs, dust, and other harmful objects. It also acts as the outermost lens of the eye bending light as it passes through and focuses the light to the retina. One of the reasons for corneal discomfort may be that the contact lens, if not fitted correctly, rubs over the cornea causing irritation and inflammation. This can be prevented by going to a professional optometrist and have the contact lenses refitted.
