Research Notes on Constipation in the Newborn
While common in bottle-fed infants, breastfed infants usually do not experience constipation. Dietary changes such as one to two ounces of apple juice or bran sprinkled on cereal (if old enough for solids) may alleviate an infant's constipation.1
