Research Notes on Combivir
Combivir is a brand name for the combination drug lamivudine and zidovudine. It is used in the management of HIV infection or AIDS. This medication works by stopping the HIV virus from multiplying.1 For complete information, see the lamivudine and zidovudine WisdomCards.
Fast Facts:
- It can be taken with or without food.2
- Combivir should not be taken together with any other medications such as Epivir, Retrovir, Epzicom or Trizivir.2
- Taking this medication will not prevent you from passing HIV to other people.2
- Avoid having unprotected sex or sharing needles, razors, or toothbrushes.2
