Research Notes on Colored Contact Lenses
The different types of colored contact lenses are visibility tints, enhancement tints, opaque color tints, and light-filtering tints. Although colored contact lenses are popular for cosmetic purposes, a prescription is still needed. The FDA issued a consumer alert that contact lenses can cause blindness and other eye injury if not properly fitted or prescribed by a professional optometrist. If you have plans of purchasing colored contact lenses, it's important to consult an eye care specialist so that he or she can help you decide which eye care product will suit your needs.
