Research Notes on Colon Cancer Screening
Colon cancer screening involves removing precancerous polyps before they develop into cancer or diagnosing a cancer in its early stages when survival is greatest. A consortium of five medical societies including surgeons and gastroenterologists, and sponsored by the United States Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, has defined separate screening protocols based on an individual's assignment to risk categories.
