This WisdomCard managed by: Nicole Kinsey

Colon cancer is the third most common form of cancer. Most are thought to come from adenomatous polyps in the colon. It is also the second leading cause of death worldwide per year. Current screening guidelines recommend colonoscopy beginning at age 50 for those with no known risk factors. Those with a family history or known genetic predisposition to colon cancer should begin screening at age 40 or earlier, depending upon the underlying condition.
