Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (or CDS) is a degeneration of the brain and the nervous system in dogs. It is roughly comparable to Alzheimer's disease in people. Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome is caused by physical changes in the brain and the chemicals in the brain. It should not be considered a part of normal aging.
