This WisdomCard managed by: Nicole Kinsey

Dark chocolate with high cocoa content contains a plant flavoniod called epicatechin that lowers cholesterol and reduces the risk of blood clots. Dark chocolate can help reduce the risk of heart disease, lowers blood pressure and is rich in antioxidants. To get the heart-healthy benefits of chocolate, it has to be dark chocolate; the darker the better as it's the cocoa content that is important.
