Research Notes on Climatotherapy and Psoriasis
Climatotherapy is a safe and effective alternative treatment for psoriasis. Climatotherapy uses the environment and certain natural resources which are thought to have a therapeutic benefit in treating this condition. The Blue Lagoon and the Dead Sea are two well known places which offer climatotherapy.1
Fast Facts:
- In one study, the severity and area of the psoriasis decreased by 81.5% after four weeks of treatment.2
- One of the best known climatotherapy sites in the world is the Dead Sea.3
- The Mavena Derma Center in Des Plaines, Ill., is the only medical clinic in the United States offering climatotherapy.4
