Research Notes on Cleavers
Cleavers, also commonly called clivers, goosegrass and catchweed, is a common herbal plant. It reportedly makes an excellent facial wash that helps to tighten skin and alleviate wrinkles.1 It has also been used to stop bleeding and heal wounds, ease burns and sunburns. Cleavers may help clear eczema and acne.1
Fast Facts:
- Other reported uses include the treatment of urinary tract infection and as a diuretic.2
- Side effects may include chest pain, breathing problems or skin hives.3
- Should not be used by pregnant women or those who intend to become pregnant while taking cleavers.3
