Research Notes on Classic ADD
Classic ADHD is a type of ADHD that causes a person to be inattentive, distracted, disorganized, and possibly hyperactive, restless, and impulsive. These people typically have a lot of energy, fidget, talk a lot, are impatient, and can't sit still for long. This type of ADHD is usually seen in males.1
Fast Facts:
- Using brain scans, Dr. Daniel Amen has defined six types of ADHD: classic, inattentive, overfocused, temporal lobe, limbic system, and ring of fire.2
- ADHD is one of the most well-known behavior disorders of childhood.3
- Boys are more likely to have ADHD than girls.4
- Adults are often not diagnosed or treated for ADHD.3
