Research Notes on Clarinex Dosage
The standard dosing regimen of the allergy medication Clarinex is 5mg once a day for adults and children over the age of 12. Your physician may recommend a smaller dosage if you suffer from some conditions such as kidney or liver disease. Children aged 6-11 are often given a dose of Clarinex of 2.5mg once a day.1
Fast Facts:
- Clarinex is sometimes given to children as young as six months of age.2
- Children aged 12 months to 5 years are given 1.25ml (or one-half teaspoon) of Clarinex once a day.2
- Clarinex is the name brand of the generic medication desloratadine.2
