City of Hope National Medical Center is a biomedical research, treatment and educational institution located in Duarte, California. The center is dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases, such as diabetes.
Fast Facts:
- One of 40 Comprehensive Cancer Centers, the highest designation bestowed by the National Cancer Institute.
- At any given time, the center is conducting more than 300 clinical trials involving 30 to 40 percent of its eligible patients
- Founded in 1913 as a haven for those stricken with tuberculosis.
