Research Notes on Cimetidine
Cimetidine -- sold under the brand name Tagamet -- is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and prevent them from recurring after they have healed. Cimetidine is also used to treat conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid which causes heartburn, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This drug is available in prescription and non-prescription, thus, it is advisable to consult a doctor prior to use.
