Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy

Research Notes on Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy

Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy is also known as chronic relapsing polyneuropathy. This occurs when the immune system attacks the peripheral nerves by mistake. The most common form of this condition is slowly progressive weakness in the arms and legs. Treatment depends on how serious the symptoms are. Complete recovery is possible, although permanent loss of nerve function can also occur.
