Research Notes on Chromacine
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a warning on July 21, 2006 pertaining to the use of Chromacine. This alternative medication may cause severe complications including cardiovascular collapse and kidney failure.1 It is an injection used in the treatment of Lyme disease. It contains large levels of bismuth and has caused two reported deaths.2 This medication has not be evaluated or approved by the FDA.
