Christopher Reeve was an actor known for playing "Superman." He suffered a severe spinal cord injury from a traumatic horse riding accident that caused him to be paralyzed from the neck down. He established the Christopher Reeve Foundation that helps people with spinal cord injuries. Reeve passed away at age 52 on October 10, 2004 from a cardiac arrest caused by a systemic infection.
