Cholesterol Blood Test

This WisdomCard managed by: Nicole Kinsey

A cholesterol blood test is done not to diagnose or monitor a disease, but to estimate the risk of cholesterol-related diseases or complications such as heart attacks. This test is done by extracting a small amount of blood from a patient's arm. The blood sample is then brought to a laboratory for analysis. A physician will then interpret the results and determine the appropriate treatment plan in the event that the cholesterol level is found to be high.
