It is not uncommon for women to experience changes in their asthma symptoms during pregnancy. Approximately one-third of pregnant women will experience a worsening of asthma symptoms, one-third will experience a decrease in symptoms, and one-third will notice no change. For women who experience changes in symptoms, asthma is typically less severe during the last month of pregnant, but may often be more severe during the 29-36 weeks.1
