Research Notes on Celebrities and Bad Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery can change, rebuild, or even replace body tissues. These techniques are often used in an effort to help people look younger or correct perceived flaws. Plastic surgeons can tighten skin and straighten noses, but too much plastic surgery may leave patients looking "not exactly human."1 Many celebrities are guilty of going too far.

- Examples of celebrities who are widely believed to have had bad plastic surgery: Jennifer Grey, Cher, Joan Rivers, Michael Jackson, Tara Reid, Fergie, Courtney Love, and Victoria Beckham.23
- Some of this bad plastic surgery might have happened because the celebrities did not do proper research on the procedure and on their surgeons beforehand.4
- Another mistake can be getting too many surgeries, which can remove so much tissue, bone, and cartilage that features appear to cave in (for example Courtney Love's nose and Michael Jackson's face).4
