Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is to replace the eye's clouded lens with a clear, artificial lens that is caused by cataract. The surgery is painless and takes less than an hour. Often patients stay awake and the eye is numbed with drops. If both eyes require surgery, they will be done separately four to eight weeks apart.
