Research Notes on Catapres Warnings and Precautions
Catapres (clonidine) warnings and precautions include avoiding use in those who are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are nursing. Catapres should not be stopped suddenly as this may cause serious withdrawal symptoms. As with any medication you should inform your health care provider of any medication or supplements you are currently taking.1

- Catapres is a medication used in the treatment of high blood pressure. It may also be used to relieve alcohol withdrawal, treat Tourette's syndrome, and to treat ulcerative colitis.2
- Catapres side effects may include constipation, headache, and change in sex drive.3
