Coronary arteries are blood vessels that supply blood to the heart. The heart receives its oxygen and nutrients from the blood supplied by the coronary arteries. The main arteries branch off from the aorta.1

Fast Facts:

  • The right coronary artery supplies blood to the right atrium and right ventricle.1
  • The left coronary artery branches off into two parts:
    • The circumflex artery supplying blood to the left atrium and side and back of the left ventricle.1
    • The left anterior descending artery supplying blood to the front and bottom of the left ventricle and the front of the septum.1
