For people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the use of oxygen can drastically improve their ability to perform daily living tasks. Treatments using oxygen can increase the survival rate of some people with COPD.1 Oxygen can be given in a medical setting or at home.2 Oxygen can prevent or slow down the advancement of right-sided heart failure.1
