Research Notes on COPD and Caffeine
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung condition characterized by labored breathing due to blockage in the air passages. There is no cure for the disease, however it can be treated by medications, relaxation techniques, and proper diet to relieve its symptoms. Experts advise against intake of caffeine; which is in coffee, tea, and soft drinks such as cola; since this can have adverse interactions with medications being taken. Caffeine can also cause one to feel nervous or become jittery, and dehydrated since it is a strong diuretic.
