Research Notes on COPD Foundations and Support Groups
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) can be challenging to those who have the disease. It is incurable; however, there are a number of treatment approaches to relieve its symptoms and to delay its progression. Support groups help people living with COPD find more information about the condition from others who are also dealing with the disease themselves. Support groups also hold activities or events that foster interaction among members, which is helpful in making patients feel better, knowing that they are not alone and that there are others who understand their situation.
