Research Notes on Burdock
Burdock root has been used historically to treat conditions such as arthritis, diabetes and hair loss.1 It is an active ingredient in some popular cancer medications as well.1 The extract from the burdock plant comes from the roots and seeds.2

- Is believed to raise serotonin levels, which can help with certain types of depression such as seasonal affective disorder and bipolar disorder.3
- Has been used as a topical remedy for eczema and acne.4
- There are no known side effects of using burdock.5
