Research Notes on Bronchiolitis
Bronchiolitis is inflammation of the bronchioles, the smallest air passages of the lungs. Bronchiolitis is usually a viral infection. RSV is responsible for the illness in most children. Adenovirus, parainfluenza (croup), and other viruses can also cause bronchiolitis.

- In infants, symptoms of bronchiolitis are cough, wheezing, shortness of breath over one or two days.
- There is no effective treatment for bronchiolitis. Therapy is supportive.
