Bromfenac, also sold under brand name Xibrom, is a non-steroid anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) ophthalmic solution.1 It is used to reduce ocular pain and reduce inflammation after cataract extraction.2 It is sold as a prescription and manufactured by ISTA Pharmaceuticals.3

  • Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories recalled Duract from the market on June 22, 1998.4
  • FDA Pregnancy Category C.5
  • All topical NSAIDs may slow down or delay healing after procedures.5
  • Common side effects: eye irritation, eye pain, headache, sensitivity to light, tearing and throbbing pain.6
