Research Notes on Breastfeeding and Diabetes

According to The Journal of the American Medical Association women who breastfeed may also be lowering their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Breastfeeding conveys health benefits for babies, and there is evidence that it does the same for moms. Studies has shown that the longer a woman breastfed, the lower her chances were for developing diabetes. Mothers that are already diabetic that breastfed, lower their insulin requirements and have better control of their blood glucose.
