Research Notes on Breastfeeding

Breast milk, with few exceptions, is the best type of nutrition for an infant. Breastfeeding benefits both the mother and the baby. The baby obtains nutrients and antibodies from the mother, while beneficial hormones are released from the mother into her own body. The bond that is shared between baby and mother can also be strengthened through breastfeeding.
