Research Notes on Breast Lumps
Breast lumps are common in women 30-50 years of age. There are four kinds of breast lumps, only one of them malignant. Malignant lumps have irregular shapes and are hard, like a slice of raw carrot.
Fast Facts:
- Eight out of 10 lumps that women may feel in their breasts are benign.
- Lumps in a woman are often caused by fibrocystic changes, fibroadenomas, and cysts.
- Causes may include milk cysts, breast cancer, and injury.
