Research Notes on Breast Cancer Screening
Breast cancer screening is looking for cancer before a person has any symptoms. The most common screening types are a) mammogram or breast x-ray - considered as the best method in breast cancer detection, b) clinical breast exam - examination being conducted by a doctor or nurse, who uses his or her hands to feel for lumps or other changes in the breast, and c) breast self-exam - self examination of the breasts for any lumps, changes in size or shape of the breast, or any other changes in the breasts or underarm (armpit).
