Research Notes on Botox for Overactive Bladder
Botulinum toxin (brand name Botox) is a highly poisonous substance used in minute amounts for medical purposes. It has recently been discovered that it can help treat an overactive bladder (OAB) by paralyzing the bladder muscles, thereby improving symptoms of incontinence. Initial results of studies show promising results in children with OAB, however, researchers need to conduct further studies to support this treatment approach.
