Bone Tumors in Dogs

In dogs, most bone tumors are malignant. About 85% of these bone tumors are osteosarcomas which are aggressive tumors. Other bone tumor types are mestatic, multiple myeloma, chondrosarcoma, hemangiosarcoma, fibrosarcoma and liposarcoma.1

  • --Involve either the axial or appendicular skeleton.
  • --Most show up spontaneously, although some are caused by previous bone damage.
  • --Swelling of affected bone and lameness are some signs of a bone tumor.2
