Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, Good Health HMO (BCBSKC) is an independent health plan organization licensed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.1 BCBSKC originated as Group Hospital Services in 1938 and by 1982 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (BCBSKC) was formed.2 Good Health HMO, Inc. is one of the three licensed affiliates of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association owned and incorporated by BCBSKC as a for-profit HMO (health maintenance organization).3 Formed in 1988, Good Health HMO, Inc. serves 32,000 hospitals and has over 58,600 members to date.3
