Research Notes on Blood Clots and Lap Band Surgery
One of the newest weight loss surgeries approved by the Food and Drug Administration is Lap-Band surgery, also known as adjustable gastric banding. It restricts the amount of food that enters the stomach through an adjustable balloon. One of the possible complication of the surgery is the development of blood clots which can be prevented with anticoagulants.
