Research Notes on Blepharospasm
Blepharospasm is an involuntary, forceful closing of the eyelids. It often affects both eyes, however it can also affect only one eye. Blinking or winking worsens as the condition progresses. The eyelids can close for a longer period of time than a normal blinking reflex; which can cause vision problems. Blepharospasm is also known as essential blepharospasm.
