Bleeding after intercourse can happen if your sexual experience was exuberant or rough.1 There are also medical reasons that can cause bleeding after intercourse. The top ten causes of vaginal bleeding are: cervical dysplasia, chlamydia, gonorrhea, vaginitis, cervical polyps, trichomoniasis, vaginal yeast infection, endometriosis, uterine polyps, or fibroid tumors.2
