Research Notes on Birth Control Patch
The birth control patch is a small patch that is worn on the skin of the abdomen, buttocks, upper torso (except for the breasts) or outer part of the upper arm. A new one is worn for three consecutive weeks. The fourth week no patch is worn and this is the week that the woman will get her period. There is much controversy surrounding the birth control patch, with studies indicating a high incidence of blood clots as a side effect.
